Secret Agent Man

There's a man who leads a life of danger.

To everyone he meets he stays a stranger.
With every move he makes,
Another chance he takes.
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow. Chorus:
Secret Agent Man
Secret Agent Man
They've given you a number.
And taken 'way your name.
(Look out!)
Beware of pretty faces you may find.
A pretty face may hide an evil mind.
Ooh, careful what you say:
Don't give yourself away.
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow. (Chorus)

You're sunnin' on the Riviera one day,
Then bleedin' in a Bombay alley next day.
Oh, don't let the wrong word slip.
While kissin' persuasive lips.
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow. (Chorus)

Established in 1919, the first restaurant in Hollywood, Musso & Frank's has long been a hangout for screenwriters and assorted celebrities. Since the Writer's Guild was located nearby on Cherokee, it became a favorite watering hole of writers such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner (who mixed his own mint julips here), John O'Hara, Dorothy Parker, Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler - even Ernest Hemingway. "Sadly, most of these legendary authors were lured to Hollywood by studio money, and out of their element, many of them ended up drinking their lives away at the bar here.
TRIVIA FR: IMDB The Angry Red Planet (1960) Director Ib Melchior was given just 9 days to shoot the film, on a budget of $200,000. The 40-foot alien monster was actually a marionette about 15 inches high. It was essentially a combination of a rat, bat, spider, and crab. The alien monster is the same one featured on the cover of the album "Walk Among Us" (1982) by The Misfits. The "Cinemagic" process, used for all scenes on the surface of Mars, was the result of an attempt by producer Norman Maurer to turn live-action footage directly into hand-drawn animation - or to simulate that. This would enable hand-drawn backgrounds to look as real (or as unreal) as the live action footage. It didn't have that effect here, of course. But see The Three Stooges in Orbit (1962) for Maurer's second (and failed) attempt at the same process.
QUOTES: Martian Voice: Men of Earth, we of the planet Mars give you this warning. Listen carefully and remember. We have known your planet Earth since the first creature crawled out of the primeval slime of your seas to become man. For millennia, we have followed your progress, for centuries, we have watched you, listened to your radio signals and learned your speech and your culture. And now, you have invaded our home. Technological adults, but spiritual and emotional infants. We kept you here deciding your fate. Had the lower forms of life of our planet destroyed you, we would not have interfered. But you survived. Your civilization has not progressed beyond destruction, war and violence against yourselves and others. Do as you will to your own and to your planet, but remember this warning - Do Not Return To Mars. You will be permitted to leave for this sole purpose - Carry The Warning To Earth. Do Not Come Here. We can and will destroy you, all life on your planet, if you do not heed us. You have seen us, been permitted to glimpse our world. Go now. Warn mankind not to return unbidden.
